On the 53rd anniversary of the Stonewall uprisings, we celebrate those who paved the way and took a stance, especially trans women of color like Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and Miss Major Griffin-Gracy. With the rise of anti- gay and trans legislation nationwide, today we acknowledge the courage and community that empower LGBTQIA+ folks and allies to continue fighting until we are all truly equal.
