Your upper back could be making your squats weaker.
Having a strong upper back:
- Creates a shelf for the bar to sit and stay.
- Keeps you in a stronger position with bar over your center of gravity.
- Bonus, your back looks bigger and that’s always dope.
Add these exercises to your workouts and you will build a stronger and thicker upper back. The third one is my current favorite and I do these on squat days to prime my upper back. Shout out my coach @plane.car.boat_ for reminding me of these!
P.S. you should ABSOLUTELY have heavy row variations that will lead to more upper back strength and thickness. These are specific to cues and tightness during barbell squats :)
