The atrium at Orchard Lofts in Northfields, Ealing. This former fruit warehouse served the orchards that covered Ealing until the early 20th Century. The atrium was open to the elements until commercial refrigeration made the building obsolete. When we bought it, it had been used for storage and was in poor shape. We reused existing architectural features (including the pictured water pump), rebuilt the atrium roof and designed a built a new staircase.
