A small excerpt from my love note/speech to the new Mr. & Mrs. Webb 🕊 “...I’d like to refer to something my father has said to me often and i personally believe it fits w these nuptials, “You can date down, but you need to marry up.” And with this he wasn’t referring to money or lifestyle, but everything to do with becoming a better person. The person you marry, should elevate you to become more, want more and in the end be more together. Marriage encompasses all of life’s most important relationships in one. A wife and a husband are one another’s best friend, confidant, lover, teacher, listener, and critic. Happiness becomes fuller, memories are fresher, commitment is stronger and even anger is felt more passionately. Marriage understands and forgives the mistakes life is unable to avoid and it encourages and nurtures what’s new. Watching the two of you merge from two to one has once again placed another footstep on the path I too want to follow. So, I offer a blessing from a gal that loves you very much. I wish your love is rooted, it is a quiet mutual confidence through sharing and forgiving. Your love is a loyalty through the good and the bad. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weakness. That you find love in the present, with hopes for the future. It is the day-to-day chronicles of compromises, small disappointments and irritations but also the victories, the romance and working towards common goals. Your love is like none other.
