Alice Rahon Live Poetry Reading On the opening night of Uncovering Alice Rahon, the first solo exhibition of Rahon's work in forty-five years, Gallery Wendi Norris will host a reading of Shapeshifter, a collection of the three books of poetry Rahon published during her lifetime, with @smallpresstraffic. Inspired by prehistoric cave paintings, lost love, and global journeys, Rahon's poems defy categorization and weave together dreams, fantasies, and madness. André Breton, Surrealism’s principal theorist and co-founder, published Rahon’s first collection of poetry; Joan Miró, Yves Tanguy, and Wolfgang Paalen each illustrated a volume of her work. The evening will include a special video made by Mary Ann Caws for the occasion that will be followed with readings by poets Cole Solinger, Layla Forrest-White, and Yedda Morrison.
