05.10.51 - 30.07.25 Today would have been Dad’s 74th birthday. Just over 2 months ago we lost him to cancer and we are still trying to process life without him. It’s the hardest thing losing a constant... someone you think will always be there to lean on, until they aren’t. The only real consolation in it all is hearing the stories of how many lives they’ve touched and influenced along the way... and our Dad had a full one. From Monaghan to Cork to Kenya to Dublin... Bill Lynch was a legend of a man. Dedicated to education and also to the people he met, his passion was people and there is a massive hole missing where he once walked, that will never be filled again. Cancer came quick and finished swift. It’s cruel and unfair, but our Dad and our Mam taught us to take life as it comes, you can’t control it, you can only make the best of what you have and cherish everyone and everything you do. Before he left us, we found out that he would be granted his doctorate in Education, a lifetime of work represented on a page too small... but an honour not many get to achieve and one we are so proud that he did. We look forward to honouring him next month at his graduation to celebrate his life and his work. Dad never really did much on social media and so I felt it awkward to share anything about our recent loss up until now, mainly as it’s not a cry for help or attention but rather a celebration of life.. finding the right words to honour that have been the hardest part. Today we remember Bill. Dad, brother, teacher, colleague, doctor and friend. Happy Birthday Dad. We love you and we miss you ❤️
