August is #NationalBlackBusinessMonth, a period dedicated to increased visibility surrounding Black businesses and the essential work they do for their communities. Over the course of this month, Amistad will highlight not only historic businesses from our home city of New Orleans, but also the influential organizations and efforts of Black New Orleans citizens over the past several decades.
