🖤 April 30 marks 50 years since the Fall of Saigon My parents fled Vietnam in 1980 as boat people—escaping everything they knew. They met in a refugee camp, where their story of survival became the beginning of mine. I always feel a quiet conflict when I visit Vietnam. There’s something comforting and familiar, but also so strange and dissonant. It’s Ho Chi Minh City now, but to me it will always be Saigon 🫶 It feels like a life that could’ve been mine—beautiful, complicated, and aching with memories I inherited.
