Missions trips not only help and affect the people you are serving but also yourselves. yes, the main purpose is to help others through God’s grace. but in doing that, you change as a person yourself. this mission trip to Peru was my last hope. i had completely given up in every aspect of life beforehand. but i had already committed to going on this trip and was not going to back out. so i used it as my last tiny bit of hope. and oh how the Lord provided. i will forever be grateful for the people i met on this trip. the friendships made with the other students are just amazing. every single one of them is so incredible and so special. i love all of you so much. and one special person who will forever be my favorite peruvian, Fran. Fran you are just so incredible. your joy is so contagious. i’ve only known you for a week and i’ve only been away from you for less than 24 hours but already i miss you so so much. thank you for everything you did for us. never let your light stop shining. every single moment on that trip will forever have an impact on me. God really turned my life around. i am no longer lost. i no longer feel like im alone because i know that He is always with me. i have hope again. and am filled with peace that surpasses all understanding. i am truly blessed to have been able to go on this trip. thank you God for everything you have done, not just in my life but every other person on that trip and the people of Peru.
