How to remove paint from hardware 👇🏻 Place your painted hardware in an old pot and cover with vinegar. Bring to a boil (you might want to put your hood fan on because the vinegar smell will be strong). Use tongs to remove the hardware from the pot. Place onto something safe like a cutting board and paper towel so you don’t ruin any surfaces with the vinegar. Wearing gloves, use a tooth brush to remove the paint. Once it’s off, wash with water. Then use Silvo/Brasso to give the hardware another scrub. If you’re unsure, use a lead test on the paint before doing this to ensure it’s safe!
