Had a fantastic practice sail aboard the Farr 85 Sapphire Knight! We went out for a long sail this weekend knowing we would see offshore winds of 25-35 kts and choppy, tumultuous seas. Happy to say my first full dance on the bow of this powerful boat went well with solid sets and great communication between the small army of people it takes to accomplish maneuvers on such a large yacht. As we wrestled the massive mainsail down for the final time, the boat bucked and lurched chaotically and I took a clean slap across the face with one of the carbon battens. Luckily it missed my eyes and my nose and I got out with with just some bruises and a chuckle.
