SO HERE IT IS the MUD CAKE - which I will probably NEVER, EVER!? MAKE AGAIN. Wanted to do a riff on the classic “dirt n’ worms cake” which I used to have at camp growing up. OBVIOUSLY we had to class it up so WE HAVE a rye devils food cake, brown sugar and malt soaking syrup, chicory infused milk chocolate mousse, salty sable cookie crumbs, a preserved lemon Swiss meringue buttercream, PLUS HOMEMADE GUMMY WORMIES.
