During the panel at @sdcc2022, I was asked to retell the story of how I felt when I found out I was cast as Captain Carol Freeman. Suffice it to say, I am a lifelong Trek Fan in every form it’s taken over the years & to now be a part of this visionary franchise is mind boggling to me! I immediately called my family (also Trekkies), then reached out to my original Trek inspiration and now friend @nichellenicholsofficial to share my insanely great news! It was so emotional for me then & frankly it still is today. I fell into tears, sharing the story during the panel and looked up to see several audience members crying right along with me!
