Hi, hello, welcome. If you’re new to our page, we’re Polished Man. We believe everyone should have the chance to live a happy, healthy and safe life. But the reality right now is that 1 in 2 children experience violence each year and 1 in 3 women have experienced violence in their lifetime. The Polished Man campaign encourages everyone to take a stand and actively commit to ending violence against women and children. We ask people to polish up one nail blue for the month of October to raise awareness and funds to support trauma prevention and recovery programs in Australia and overseas. We often get asked “why are you called Polished ‘Man’?”. Men both perpetrate and experience high levels of violence. As carers, leaders and protectors, we believe men have a positive and vital role to play in helping to stop violence against women and children. A world with less violence is a world where men are stepping up, speaking out and taking action to create a safer world for those in it. While we are called “Polished Man”, we encourage EVERYONE to stand together and polish up because we need as many hands (and nails) as we can get to tackle these big issues.
