Carrying the same name as one of the most esteemed Italian Renaissance painters, this 'Masaccio' table by cabinet maker and sculptor Giuseppe Rivadossi (created in 1985) is a masterpiece of Italian artistry just like the creations of its 15th century predecessor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Giuseppe Rivadossi once again proves his great eye for design and craftsmanship through the execution of this extraordinary table. The table is architecturally built based on the assemblage of parts through sophisticated wood joints and pins. The decorative aspect of the wood joints makes them not only necessary for the construction but also has a strong impact on the design itself and showcases the high-level of craftsmanship this table has been made with. The wooden surface beautifully shows the artist’s hand and his ability to treat the wood with the use of intensive hand-planed and trimmed techniques. A true masterpiece. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962 Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture. #guisepperivadossi #italiandesign #italianfurniture #masaccio #italianarchitecture #1980sdesign #craftsmanmodern #craftsmanship #italianart #80sfurniture #collectibledesign #tabledesign #tableconstruction
