I have always been into interpretation, performance and looking deep into the many facets we all have within ourselves. There are many instances in which we get to change our appearances: tradition, profession and celebration, to name a few. In Mexico City on the Day of the Dead, people wear makeup to simulate death; as an Ethiopian from the KARA people decorates himself almost daily with motives from nature. A stone worker in Sicily protects himself against the dust similarly to how the Moroccan traveller covers his face from the desert winds. I like seeing how deep each person goes into a role or how seriously they take what they do. Each part of ourselves makes up the vastness of humankind and its rituals. _ Siempre me ha gustado la interpretación y la exploración profunda de las muchas facetas que tenemos dentro de nosotros. Hay muchos eventos que nos hacen cambiar nuestra apariencia: tradición, profesión y celebración, por nombrar algunos. En Ciudad de México durante el Día de Muertos, la gente se maquilla para simular la muerte; así como un etíope del pueblo KARA se adorna casi a diario con motivos de la naturaleza. Un trabajador del mármol en Sicilia se protege contra el polvo de manera similar a cómo el viajero marroquí se cubre la cara del viento del desierto. Me gusta ver qué tan profundo se adentra cada persona en un rol o qué tan en serio se toma lo que hace. Cada parte de nosotros mismos constituye la inmensidad de la humanidad y sus rituales. #ABEAUTIFULWORLD
