A true artist who fully comprehends the powerful and complicated nature of humans and storytelling, talked to AMAZING’s Editor-at-Large, @the_zenjendaya, about how she values the evolution of sculpting a character through multiple layers. “I think you can have, and every so often it happens — you can have a beautifully written piece of work, or a brilliantly conceived concept or an improvised film even,” she says. “Whatever the concept is, whatever the material is, wherever its come from — you can have such brilliant material and so often is falls into the hands of people who don’t really appreciate what they’re holding, or the creatives that they’re perhaps trying to make money out of, rather than champion or be able to gauge, themselves, the quality of the material or people’s contribution. Sometimes projects are reduced to one particular genre when they don’t really live in any genre, and the greatest directors are able to transcend those genres and approach any type of piece.” More in Issue 14.
