For the inaugural issue of @red3licte I profiled my friend - downtown theater legend and Stonewall veteran, Agosto Machado. Agosto talked to me about his pioneering collaborations and creative pursuits over the past few decades, the changing landscape of New York, and his vast archive of art and ephemera which was recently showcased at @gordonrobichaux . Too much to say about Agosto’s brilliance in such a limiting space, but pick up a copy of @red3licte to get a sense of his tremendous wisdom and wit. Red3licte is a creative collective whose first project, COLLAGE COUTURE FOR A GOOD CAUSE, turns existing garments into new ones. All of the purchase price of our 1st issue will go to Hope for the Young, a London based charity that provides financial support, mentoring and advocacy to young refugees arriving in the UK.
