Women. We are half the human race. And we are second class citizens. The human right to body autonomy for half the human race is a bigger lot than Christianity’s beliefs about at what scientific point “life” begins. But you wouldn’t know it today. I live in a state where mostly women will scramble - possibly illegally- to help other women get vital life saving medical help that is legal in other states. That’s what it means to be “left up to the states”. The federal government - America- has failed half of it’s population - WOMEN. In my state, birthing people are left with the “choice” of forced birth or go against the LAW of the land. Pregnant people - having to deal with this cruel burden. SHAME! Christians need their beliefs and have every right to them. Half of the humanity of America - WOMEN, when making personal medical decisions, have lost human rights because of those Christian ideals. Ideals only. So many people who fight abortion have either had one or benefitted from one. It is wrong on every single level. And don’t get me started about the resources to birth control education and access, support for birthing mothers, support for babies who become children who become teens who become adults born into violence and poverty. Where are the Christians then? I digress... Shame on SCOTUS for supporting this religious crusade by ruling to strip women of our dignity and human right to body autonomy. Shame on SCOTUS for forcing us into criminal activity to help save the lives of our sisters, daughters, friends, and neighbors.
