In just a few days, the Student Solidarity Fund reached its application goal. We received THOUSANDS of applicants for the first phase of our fund. What that shows us is there is so much need out there. Millions of Black people across the country still need support during this #studentdebt crisis. It’s not enough for us to just survive. We want to invest in Black communities to create a world where Black lives thrive. This fund is our second mutual aid initiative of many to continue us on that journey. Our mutual aid programs follow models built by organizations supporting the Black liberation movement, which overcame a lack of government investment in Black communities by organizing their own social justice efforts. Phase two of the Student Solidarity Fund will be open in early 2023. That phase will be dedicated to currently enrolled #HBCU students.
