Words can’t describe how i feel for this one! 3 years since i last Skii’d & 3 years since my last double flip attempt (leaving me with a concussion)
The distance in between attempts made me have a lot of doubts while approaching It this time. Deep down i knew i could do It 100% - i could visualise It over and over, but it’s funny how the mind can play tricks on you all the time to make you think otherwise. i knew the most important thing i could do was simply enjoy the moments i was in the whole weekend. If the opportunity arose to give the double a go, i would. I based It completely off how i felt. Although i was there for such a short time, and don’t have ski gear (all rental thx @rhythmsnowsports ) i tried to disconnect from all these variables and not put any pressure on myself & just have a good time (which is hard for me as i am very obsessive over completing goals like this once i’ve set my mind to It)
I was lucky to be around such inspirational friends who are so talented to push me in the right direction - shoutout @bentudhope @valentinoguseli @spencerbarnes @cooperchapman and especially @mattycoxox for not leaving my side making sure before every attempt i followed a simple routine - 3 deep breaths, feel the moment, visualise success and yell “ I CAN DO THIS, I AM READY”
& to top It off he sent the jumps with his camera to film the process. Extended Vlog coming soon 🙌🏼
The first stacks hurt so much, i was in a world of pain. I couldn’t walk to get my skis when they fell off but It ain’t in my blood to give up when times get tough. Adrenalin was rushing through my whole body to mix with the pain, i was in the moment. focussed. I was loving It. This is what i live for. I almost stopped after the 3rd attempt because It was a 90% land, but i wasn’t done. I had to go straight back up to nail It right then and there. I felt It.
