The conversation my family had with all of these men before Derek’s HOF ceremony is one I’ll never forget and one that I’ll constantly remind Jalen about. It was a true reminder that greatness isn’t just about your stats, or even playing at the major league level. Greatness is who you are as a person, your impact on and off the field, your love for the game, your love for your teammates, and your true appreciation of the opportunities you are given. These men loved each other, worked hard for each other, fought for each other and they continue to show up for each other. And I will be forever grateful, that I had a front row seat at witnessing true greatness.
