A little Monday morning thriller rec for you!!! 🔪🖤🔎 KILLERS OF A CERTAIN AGE by Deanna Raybourn will be published next week—here are 3 reasons I think you’ll love it!!😉👇🏻 📖 but first, a little bit about the plot: KILLERS OF A CERTAIN AGE follows four elite assassins who have spent the last 40 years working for a clandestine international organization as some of the deadliest assassins in the world. Now their agency wants them to retire...but it quickly becomes clear that the agency actually intends to have them killed off. KILLERS OF A CERTAIN AGE becomes a cat-and-mouse chase between these four women and their own organization. It’s kill or be killed. 😱 Reason 1: AMAZING characters. I can’t sing the praises of this book’s characters enough!!! The women at the heart of this story are endearing, compelling, funny, and entertaining. You’ll love getting to know them—their quirks, unique specialities & skills, personalities, backstories, and future hopes and dreams. Just A+ character development all the way around!! Reason 2: cat-and-mouse tension. As our protagonists realize they’re being targeted by the very same organization they dedicated their lives to, the tension and stakes ramp up page by page. Our protagonists find themselves not only working to escape the assassins on their tail, but ALSO trying to hunt down the people who have put these hits out on them in the first place—so you get a full-circle cat-and-mouse chase that is so gripping! Reason 3: adventure, spy craft, & ENTERTAINMENT. I am not usually one to love espionage elements in a thriller but boy oh boy did I love it here. Watching these women use their skills honed over years as assassins was SO much fun.
