I’m sharing this as a small POV of what it’s like minding your business as a queer South Asian person. The amount of hate I get online can be overwhelming. People cursing my mom and my family, telling me I should be decapitated or skinned. It’s disgusting, but it also continues to remind me that people like me need to exist LOUDER. And we need to keep shining, because so many of us can’t. So many of us loose our lives. All these people commenting are blinded by beliefs rooted in hatred, repression and discrimination—disguised as faith. Sadly, they pray for my freedom, love and beauty. Yet can’t obtain it! Anyway, if you’re one of the many who send me love or affirmations—thank you. I mean it, you’re a big part of the reason why I can just brush it off. 💋 #gaydesi #queersouthasian #southasian
