I bought both second hand on @adverts.ie my jeans are @mihjeans my silk shirt is @vince & my shoes are @kurtgeiger - all old pieces from my wardrobe. For a long time I have been buying less & buying better so my clothes last. This means I can re-wear & re-wear my pieces. I look after my clothes so they last longer. The 2nd hand coat really needed to be dry cleaned when I got it but as I understand how to care for garments so I was able to hand wash it in a silk detergent and use vanish the original soap to remove any stubborn stains. I let it air dry and when damp hung it on a hanger and steamed the silk & cuffs back into shape with a clothes steamer. It involved some work but I saved this piece from being chucked out as the previous owner didn’t want to fork out for dry cleaning. The reward was a beautiful full length silk coat with embroidered roses and linen panels for €40.
