Big trip in the EB110 last weekend to go and pick up her younger sister in Alsace. We hadnโ€™t driven it for a long while, particularly on such a long trip. What an amazing car it is. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ It was assembled by hand and it shows, the aircon only works at high RPM, when it rains the windscreen steams up, itโ€™s super noisy at high speeds, you get the picture, the full 90s Italian supercar experience! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ Oh and if youโ€™re taller than 6ft, you have to drive with your head tilted because it hits the integrated roll cage.๐Ÿ˜ฐ Anoraky fact of the day: The gearbox is mounted under the V12 on the right hand side of the car, hence why the engine is slightly offset to the left. ๐Ÿค“ And as a result the transmission tunnel is also offset (to the right) by a whole 40mm! Meaning that if youโ€™re a passenger, your head is literally facing the A pillar!!!๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ But thankfully, it scores where it matters. First the looks, thirty years on, it still looks like nothing else, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น wedge, mega cool doors, unique piece of Italian art actually designed by an architect!๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž And what an awesome drive. The V12 is tiny, 3.5L so you have massive lag but it loves revving! Boost comes on at a very peaky 5000rpm but she will scream passed 8000rpm, the noise is awesome and the chassis is brilliant, super compliant, massive grip, steering is sublime, utterly fantastic, amazing work by Nicola Materazzi and Loris Bicocchi.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ Today it seems the EB110 has finally come of age, for decades, it was ignored, and now petrolheads (and the market) finally give this car the recognition it deserves. A masterpiece.
