This is the moment my dad woke up post operation for the first time and saw my mom and I. We had just told him the good news. My dad had surgery yesterday. I flew to Colorado to be here for it and made sure my mom didn’t have to be in the waiting room alone. Everything went successfully and I’m so relieved. The amount of gratitude I have for these two, adopting me when I was three months old, and giving me such a loving childhood, means everything. Their patience, commitment, and love for each other and for me has made me who I am today. Yesterday, I got to show them some of that love back.
