How y’all doing? Y’all aight?
I been feeling really overwhelmed, which is pretty par for the course lately. But I had a really good therapy session this week and wanted to share some of what I learned.
My therapist always tells me to “focus on what I can control” as a coping strategy for my anxiety but I pushed back this week because “focus on what you can control” has started to feel a bit individualistic/slogan-y to me. But she reminded me that it is more than a mantra or slogan. It’s purpose is to ground me, to help me refocus on the present moment instead of getting lost in my anxious thoughts.
She got me right on together and I really needed it. I hope it blesses y’all the same way it did me!
