Made these quilted denim sleeping bags for the girls! A few months ago I found an old Edwardian trunk in the barn at our ranch. I had a feeling there was treasure to be found and sure enough when I opened it up it was FULL of fabric and stacks of perfectly cut 8x8 inch denim squares. Instantly inspired I started piecing together squares to make sleeping bags. I did not follow a pattern for these, I just watched a few YouTube videos and then went for it lol a few of my measurements were off so there is a slight wonky-ness to the design (which seems to be my forte in most of my creations 😆) I used organic cotton/wool batting and let the girls pick out a flannel liner at our local quilt shop. Billie chose deers and Mabel geese, the yardage wasn’t quite enough to line the inside so I choose a cute yellow polka dot to add on. The back of the quilt is just the 8x8 inch squares sewed up and to bind it all together I just did a simple yarn top knot. I used 80inch separating zippers which totally gives you that iconic zip and unzip sleeping bag sound, and hand embroidered each of the girls names on top! Feeling very inspired to make more of these!
