It is coming up to my 36th Xmas season in the hair industry. In all honesty I love it more than I ever have. It allows us all so much freedom as well as expression. What I do feel is still a problem after all those years is that we still feel we are alone and don't necessarily grow the industry. We don't teach well enough,we try and own clientele and staff. In my opinion I would love to see more salons accept that a stylist often wants to grow further than your 4 walls. What you can offer them in accordance to growth if you accept the fact that you are part of the journey is huge. Loyalty is not a time based commitment, it's behavior based. Trust the process, be part of their success and never try and own their destination.
