From @out_inthefield: “After seeing the amazing work of Chef Renee Touponce and the team from the Oyster Club last year at the Hickories, it took Jim about thirty seconds on the property of Stone Acres to decide we had to come back and work with them this year. The generations-old family run farm and historic property run by Dan and Jane Meiser features dry stone walls, a three bay garden and home dating back to before the Revolutionary War, and a charming farmstand to feature their CSA produce, which they also provide to Oyster Club and their group's other related restaurants. The rainy day cleared just in time for us to welcome guests into the garden for reception and farm tours, but stayed misty enough to call for string lights over the dinner table under the farm's tent. Chef Renee quietly executed a dinner rife with beautiful Connecticut-caught seafood, peak summer produce from Stone Acres, and pillow-fluffy garlic bread that met guests at the table like a warm welcome home. The applause from every diner echoed loudly off the tent's canvas when she received a standing ovation during chef's walk; a testament to her work matched only by Dan's personal thank you from the box during opening remarks, which may have included a tear or two of pride from the restauranteur — or maybe that was a sprinkle of summer rain.
