I’m delighted to announce that I’m an Ambassador for the Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund, which launched today! I’ve been supported GMG for many years now and it’s so exciting to see GMG take their hugely impactful mission to the next level. Girls Make Games was founded in 2014 to address the gender gap in the video games industry. To date, over 23,000 girls in nearly 150 cities and 20 countries have accessed their educational resources. GMG’s alumni have gone from middle school to high school, college and are now entering the games industry. GMG Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) charity founded in response to the journeys of GMG alumni, who experienced the gaps in support for their aspirations in pursuing game development. There's a lack of community, guidance, and funding for degrees that would lead to careers in games. Through the GMG Scholarship Fund we aim to bridge these gaps, by providing need-based financial scholarships to game dev camps and college, as well as mentorship and internship opportunities to students.
