14 @comradesmarathon winners medals between the 3 of us - @bruce_fordyce and Alan Robb 🏆🎉. When Dad gave me my first running book Lore of Running in the 7th grade (1995), I read all about Bruce and the @comradesmarathon . It boggled my 13 year-old mind how humans ran that far- do they stop and eat sandwiches 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️?! I told the story at Bruce’s after-party. I couldn’t have imagined he would some day be my friend, and I could ask him this question in person !!️ I haven’t eaten a sandwich during an ultra (yet!), and Bruce did not eat sandwiches during his 9 Comrades wins 😆🥪.
