A new piece by @SherwinTheArtist, "Sky’s the Limit in the County of Kings, A Tribute to the Notorious B.I.G." is a sonic sculpture inspired by and dedicated to the art, life, and legacy of a Brooklyn Hip Hop legend. Its form and structure challenge the traditions of western public sculpture by representing African American artistry, lineage, and evolution in the “King of New York.” The crowned bust is traditionally sculpted, sitting atop an angular steel frame and supported by panels that highlight Christopher Wallace’s achievements and contemporaries. As it plays his music, it invites viewers to experience the larger-than-life artistry of B.I.G.’s contributions to and love of Brooklyn, hip-hop culture and community.
