I’m wearing my “Mayo Rose” silk scarf by local Mayo based designer @loubrennandesign the print she created on this scarf was inspired by the paintings of roses by artist Grace Henry, who was the wife of Paul Henry, swipe to the end to see the original paintings by Lou Brennan that became the print for this scarf which were inspired by Grace Henry’s paintings. Most people are familiar with Paul Henry’s eponymous oil paintings that captured the ever-changing skyscape of Connemara & it’s people but few are aware that his wife was a talented painter in her own right. As the roses continue to bloom around the the front of my cottage I am reminded to drink up the last of these September evenings, to stop & smell the roses & be grateful for the last of these light-filled evenings 🌹☀️🌈
