Brace yourselves, this is the first post of many. Our first rehearsal I learned that Hot In Here came out when I was two years old and at two I was dancing around the house in diapers to Hot In Here. 2017 I lost my grandmother. That weekend of her funeral was Ariana’s One Love Manchester event. Watched it with my parents and Pharrell was performing, whatever song we were watching he just had two dancers on stage. “I see you doing that Joya. Just you, another dancer, and an artist on stage”. Don’t know what possessed my mother to say that, but the next day Khalid dm’d me asking me to go on tour with him and dance with one other girl. I was 17. Today I’m 22 dancing next to Pharrell. I can never say I’m sure about a lot of things, but what I can say is what’s for me has not missed me. This was all a part of the plan before I even knew there was a plan. Circle fuller than full.
