Let’s talk about coffee ☕️ There are a lot of differing and confusing recommendations on caffeine in pregnancy. Some books or OBs will tell you to have less than 200 mg a day. Others will say no caffeine at all or switch to decaf. In fact, what the data tells us is that drinking caffeine in moderation is totally fine. The main concern is that it might lead to higher rates of miscarriage. However, the best studies show no evidence that it does, even when having 2 to 4 cups a day. Evidence on more than 4 cups of coffee a day is mixed and, in my view, a reasonable person could make a case either way. More details on this in Expecting Better if you want to dive in!
