3 CLIENT RED FLAGS TO SPOT AS A SERVICE PROVIDER:
1. QUESTIONING YOUR PRICING- this isn’t always black and white, and will happen often! Clients have a right to ask questions to determine if the value of your services will make sense for them and their business. HOWEVER, it is when a client is not respecting you as a business owner that you should steer away from. Sometimes you will attract clients that aren’t the right fit, and that’s okay.🫶
2. PROVIDING SERVICES BEFORE A CONTRACT/PAYMENT- Just like your clients, you are running a business, and need to protect yourself and ensure that there is an agreement in place before moving forward together on a project. Unfortunately, there are clients out there that may have bad intentions of not providing payment after a service. This is why having some sort of contract that may include a deposit is crucial to protect both parties and keep each other accountable. 👍🏼
3. QUESTIONING THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO COMPLETE A PROJECT- Again, this is never black and white, but there are boundaries that both parties should uphold to as well. This is another reason why a contract is so crucial, to ensure an estimate or time frame. Regardless, everyone works differently, the direction of the project may change, which is why this is important to discuss before starting the project. Some clients may question your ability to work fast simply because they unrealistic expectations, so make sure to discuss these specifics before hand.🤍
Overall, the most important/consistent variable to avoiding these problems that may occur is making sure that your COMMUNICATION is strong!🙌🏼
