Okay one quick sentimental post...Jake just sent me this picture and man it hit a chord. WE HAVE A SHOW ON HULU!!! As a young female Producer coming originally from commercials and trying to break into TV...whew it has been a ride! I’m SO grateful for the many men who have been huge supporters of me in my career. Honestly I’m beyond lucky and I know that. With that said, it has in no way been easy convincing the TV world that as a young female producer I can actually handle this job. Over the years every time I felt like I was moving forward the bar would also move. “Sure you’re an experienced commercial producer, but you haven’t actually produced a show...” “Well that was a show but it was with Funny or Die, we don’t know if you could handle Producing for a bigger company...” “Okay but that one was a streaming series, it wasn’t technically a TELEVISION show” “Yeah you made a Comedy Central show that was on TV, BUT you’ve never done a big Network/Studio show...” I get it’s not meant to be easy by any means, but every single step has been a battle for what I know I can handle and deserve. I know tomorrow the bar will shift again as always, but today I will take great joy and pride in the fact no one can ever say these same excuses to me ever again...and that feels awesome. I have always been fighting to keep moving forward and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Bring it on. For now I’m celebrating all the wins, especially that we have a motherfucking Hulu show!!! And truly, thank you @chrisestradacomic @terribletown @mattingebretson and Jake Weisman who have never once questioned if I could handle things...and let’s be real they couldn’t have known for sure but trusted me with their baby anyways! It cannot be quantified and should not be overlooked how much that type of support means to a girl from Western MA just trying to make it in this industry. ❤️
