Everything I do is for that little brown girl that felt like she wasn’t good enough. I remember being told “you don’t look like a hairstylist” even though at the time, I was already 4 years into my own business behind the chair. That person didn’t know my accolades though & said that comment purely based on what I looked like in that moment. I’ll never forget it. 1, because like, who tf did she think she was? I should have cut her hair off. Snip snip b!h & 2, it got me thinking...there are going to be people that don’t think you deserve to be where you are because of what you look like.
