🗺 Let’s explore Grand Ave
This week @dtlawanderer and @ramseywild explored the arts and culture hub of DTLA on Grand Ave. Here is a snippet of what you can do to explore the area FOR FREE!
Recommendations:
🅿️ Park at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and validate at the tour table inside to make your parking $9 for 3 hours starting as early as 10am.
🛑 Stops:
1) Grand Park - offers free yoga, walking and a 4th of July block party. Keep a lookout for their programming this summer as they celebrate their 10 year anniversary.
2) The Music Center - Dance DTLA Most Friday Nights on the Jerry Moss Plaza (June 17; Jul 8 - Sep 2 from 7pm - 11pm). Learn new dances under the stars with L.A’s top DJs and local bands and learn new moves in different dance styles— from Disco and Tango, to Bollywood and Salsa.
3) Walt Disney Concert Hall - Self-guided audio tours and guided tours or an iPad Mini and pair of headphones, Thought Experiments in F# Minor leads its audiences along a route through WDCH, revealing an imagined world hiding in plain sight. Tours run daily from 10am - 3pm.
4) The Broad - Free admission into the museum and receive free access to Takashi Murakami exhibition every Thursday evening from 5pm - 8pm and all day during operating hours on June 19 and July 5 in honor of the Juneteenth and Independence Day holidays. Reserve free advance tickets. If you can’t get tickets to the museum you can still experience AR outside of the lawn, just look for the QR code on the ground.
5) MOCA - Free admission into the world of contemporary art Wed-Fri 11am-5pm and Sat-Sun from 11am-6pm. Free timed tickets are released every two weeks on Tuesday at 12pm.
