In a society that views oppressed and privileged as mutually exclusive positions, this body of work seeks to showcase the intricacies of power dynamics involved in colonial extractive practices and their effects on modern life in so-called “Canada”. A fine line exists between “freedom from” and “freedom to”, perhaps self-examination might remind us what we work for. 📍PARQUE DE PRADO This space combines architecture inspired by the concept of urban recycling with extensive vegetation. It is the result of 230 trees planted as part of the Eco Ciudad de Medellín project. Design is based on the slopes of Medellín, taking advantage of the characteristics of the terrain to generate terraces and viewpoints, providing citizens with a privileged view. We took the place as a metaphor to give an atmosphere to the project by candidate Will Crosson as vegetation/nature reclaims back what is its own. 📌Congratulations to WILL CROSSON & all selected student designers – FINALISTS for RESONANCE, competing in the Arts of Fashion Competition 2022.
