11 years exactly. God is good. How Cutz started. Repost from @_cutz_ • During this time I wanted to compete, but it was so hard because I partied a lot. We know that partying equals food and alcohol. Even though I found a way to be in decent shape, I couldn’t focus on competing because of the lifestyle I had. It wasn’t until an incident that happened that totally changed my life. I remember being in school. I cut a frog open for lab, went home, trained people, and then went out with some friends. That night my friend Russell and I got into some trouble. Some guys went up to him and I heard him calling us. I saw the dude swung so I jumped in and ended up getting into a big fight. The guys ended up running away and after the fight I was ready to go home. It wasnt until a security guard yelled “he got stuck!” I didn’t even know I got stabbed. Once I heard what happened, that’s when I started to panic. I remember being in the bathroom while security told me to stay awake because I was dozing off. They ended up calling 911 and they took Russell and I to UC Davis Medical. Russell got stabbed 9 times and I got stabbed 15 times. This changed our lives. I remember asking the doctors whether or not I was going to die but at the same time having this secure feeling that I wouldn’t. I knew God had me covered. From there, I gave it all to HIM. In my last Monday motivation I talked about the goals I had, but as I chased after them, I never once prayed for it. After the stabbing, I prayed for everything in my life. This is when things started to fall into place. I quit all the partying and drinking completely and focused on my relationship with God. 2 months after the stabbing and getting the ok from my doctor, I finally decided to commit to a show and 6 months after the stabbing, I did the Fresno Classic —placed 2nd place in the lightweight division(weighed just 142 lbs) “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 (Rest of the stories in my Highlights.
