✨ Open Studio ✨ ⁠ Please join us on Wednesday, May 25th at 6:30pm with resident Ligia Lewis in the Callie’s movement studio to present and discuss her latest work, “A Plot / A Scandal.“ ⁠ ⁠ As Lewis writes, “A plot exposed, a foul deed enacted, invites scandal. In the spirit of revolution or romantic musings, scandals provoke an imagining of the impossible.” Lewis asks how scandal might reveal what lies close to our fantasies: “How does scandal expose where society places its limits? If life is a scandal waiting to be plotted, how do we position ourselves within its matrix?”⁠ ⁠ Lewis will share excerpts of performance materials, then be in conversation with her sister and collaborator Sarah Lewis-Cappellari to discuss the contents of “A Plot / A Scandal,“ unpacking some of the formal translations of its research, and sharing some of its critical inquiries. Join us for this intimate evening of performance and conversation.⁠ ⁠ “A Plot / A Scandal“ will officially premiere at HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Berlin in October 2022.
