Happy National Aviation Day! ✈️Maybe you’re wondering why I’m posting this photo instead of with an airplane? Well, what if I told you that this IS aviation history? You know my magazine cover for Toluca Lake Magazine? (See previous post.) Well ladies and gentlemen, I did this entire shoot including the cover at Amelia Earhart’s home, located in Toluca Lake, CA. Here I am standing on the original staircase that she graced. I got chills thinking about all of the times she walked up and down these stairs, touching this same ornate wooden banister. I tried to reimagine all of the dreams, all of the plans and all of the audacity. This was the last home that she lived in, as she left and walked out never to return from her fateful flight in 1937. As the world knows, Amelia’s legacy and trailblazing ways left an unmeasurable mark in aviation history, especially as a female aviator.
