Next week, San Francisco's @weplayers come to BBG with their work "Mother Lear," a poignant study in mother-daughter dynamics, aging, and love. Written and performed by Ava Roy and Courtney Walsh, Mother Lear centers on an irascible middle-aged scholar with dementia who communicates with her caretaker daughter using only the text of King Lear. Each 50-minute performance is followed by a facilitated discussion with the audience.
Limited tickets are still available at bbg.org/events or the link in our bio. Mother Lear performances run August 24–28 in BBG's Children's Garden Pavilion.
Mother Lear is part of BBG's Art in the Garden series, which is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
