"I used 35mm anamorphic for most of the piece. I wanted to capture larger landscapes in wider frames and allow Lydia our dancer to really move. That movement was helping express the the story. 4 perf anamorphic gives you the dimensionality and depth that I wanted from those elements in the piece. I also used Ektachrome 16mm for it's warmer punchier look. as well as 500T and 250D. The 35mm gave us a feeling of surrealism it excentuated the overwhelming emotions that we felt. while the 16mm kept a more grounded human element to the project. That final push out the window was on 16mm very purposefully as it hopefully expressed a sense of us looking forward to the future and not letting our emotions trap us in a standstill state of mind." ⠀ THAT SUMMER OF 2020 was directed and shot by @quinn_feldman on 35mm and 16mm and is about the loss and healing we were all going through during the summer of 2020. It's narrated by an eclectic group of voices, each person expressing their own unique feelings but all conveying similar emotions. Ten years from now, how will we look back on "that summer of 2020?"
