Sylvia Rivera told the truth. Nearly 50 years ago, at the Christopher Street Liberation Day Rally, the Street Transgender Action Revolutionaries co-founder shouted over the boos of cis gays who didn't see the place of working class trans people of color in their assimilationist vision of progress.
