Carbon farming on the Straus Organic Dairy Farm is helping move carbon from the atmosphere and put it back in the soil. Cows are essential to this agricultural practice. When cows are grazing, they help build nutrient-rich soil and stimulate pasture growth. Cows also are key to helping #AlbertStraus reach his carbon neutrality model goal by 2023 and produce climate-positive milk: “My farm will be carbon neutral by the end of next year and have an equal or lower carbon footprint than any dairy-based alternatives,” he said. “We’re doing it from the farming side of it rather than buying offsets.
