Sodium Bicarbinate 1cc is added to every 10cc of the solution to create a more neutral pH and more comfortable injection. The cannula is fanned in the subcutaneous plane from the jawline to the zygomatic arch and medially to the midline, upper lip, and chin. The opposite side was done using Mesoram, 7 needles, 30g, 4mm. This created similar anesthesia/numbness but there was more bruising. The upper lip and chin were then treated with a 3 needle Mesoram. Finally, the perioral area was further anesthetized by injecting the mental nerve and the infraorbital nerve branch to the upper lip. The patient rated her pain during the procedure as "zero".
